Cue Salt-N-Pepa: Celia Rossiter wants us to talk about sex.
Rossiter attended Dalhousie's Fountain School of Performing Arts. She dabbled in acting and directing with SMUDS. And, she appeared in Harbourtown by Mark Foster at last year's Fringe.

But this year, she's really coming into her own with a solo comedy show about something still subject to controversy.

"Sex Before Marriage? is about my sex life, the relationships I've had, and the ups and downs that have come with them," says Rossiter. "The good, the bad and the unfortunate—it's got it all."

Rossiter hopes that by talking about all the good things and the bad things, she'll inspire other women to do the same.

"I think that it is really important to have a balance when discussing sex because it's not always easy or good or right," says Rossiter, "and we have to be able to share that and communicate those things to our partners.

"I think that women haven't really been taught to have that open dialogue about what they want in society," she adds.

Rossiter says she's struggled with being open and honest about sex, but now she's speaking up—and not just to her partners. She's talking to everyone who attends her show. And she wants you to talk, too!

"I hope people laugh, and I hope people connect in some way," she says. "I think there is a lot in this piece for people to relate to, and I hope we can have that open dialogue during and/or after the show."
