Canada Day at the Museum

The Museum of Immigration spends a lot of time reflecting on the Canadian experience, gathering the stories of many who call this country home—so it only makes sense the waterfront behemoth is a hot spot for July 1. Free admission all day means you should check out the Refuge Canada exhibit at the museum if you haven't already (it tells the stories of refugees Canada has accepted or held back through the decades), plus kid-friendly henna and crafts await as well. The cherry on top? A host of multicultural acts—think the Chinese Culture and Arts Club, the Maritime Centre for African Dance and more—perform from noon to 4pm. The Big Sing, a participatory choir that has all voices chiming in on covers of your favourite pop hits, snags headline status at the show.
