I have "strapped on the boots". I am in the military. Reserves. Been overseas. Away from my family for over a year.
Any other reservist, and most non-ignorant reg force can vouch for what I said. Reserves work thier asses off 7 days a week. OP is one of the many bitter, ignorant reg force pers who hates on Reservists cause he thinks we have it so easy. Try walking a mile in our shoes and see how much you like it. Then go back to your overpaid, underworked, pampered job at Stad and whine about it some more.

phhhh. Reg force serves 24/7!? Does that include the 9-2pm days, with extra long lunch breaks, coffee breaks, soup breaks at 10 pm?

    Re: “angry
Sigh, this is why I am regretting going to school for years to get a history degree. It doesn't matter how much effort you put in to try and learn the proper story, people will still just make their own shit up. And yes, I'm talking to you Fever and Fat. I suppose its hopeless.

    But what the hell!
Fat: Jerusalem was a Muslim holy land before Mecca because it was originally a Christian/Jewish holy land, religions from which Islam originated.

Fever: If Turkey isn't in the middle east I don't know what is. Ottoman Empire was agressive against all major powers in the Mediterranian (Italy, Spain) as well as continental European states (Austria). Muslim religion expanded almost solely by military means, and various Empires within the Muslim faith have fought each other throught Islamic history. And they didn't stop at India, Muslims expanded all the way into Southeast Asia.

As for the popular myth of Afghanistan being the graveyard of Empires, people should actually pick up a book on the history of Afghanistan, there aren't many, but most are quite short. Afghanistan has been conquered and held many times, by many peoples, INCLUDING the Mongols, who left quite a strong impact on Afghan society, and most likely started an entire ethnic group (Hazara) inside Afghanistan.

But hey, what do I know. For all you numbnuts care I could have said the Catholic church gave Jesus rainbow underpants and he shat all over them, gave them to the Middle East, and thats why its so messed up there.

Of course these students have a right to express thier opinions. But there is a big difference between expressing and oppressing. By trying to bar military from the school they are removing a career option, (whether its good or not, up for debate) from other students---essentially making a decision for them.

Just to add to the silliness of this situation, lets put some quotes these people said in perspective:

"Our perspective is, for students to make an informed decision, they need to see both sides of the story," she says."

Ok...informed decsisions, getting facts straight, all good, all admirable. However, this group, like many others like it, still has a problem grasping FACTS!!

    Re: “Garbage Fiends
Perhaps in my rage I wasn't clear enough: the truck had already been down my street, my stuff picked up. Therefore, whoever's garbage it is stays on my property until next week. Also, it wasn't one bag, it was four. Good enough reason to be pissed? Fuck yea!
