Buried Inside
Chronoclast
(Relapse)
Using the genre “drone metal” to describe a band might sound negative, but in the case of Buried Inside’s latest album, Chronoclast, it isn’t. Buried Inside has written and performed an album comparable to genre-leading bands such as Isis and Pelican, but has remained unique in the process. Buried Inside has distinct metal and hardcore edges to its sound that sets it apart from others. The record presents an intriguing theme of time — the word itself appears in almost every song title — and features obscure lyrics dealing with how time can affect views, as well as how culture has changed over time. Chronoclast, fluctuating from chaos to beauty in mere seconds, is original and will certainly not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
