Make your first toast as a married couple award-worthy, with L’Acadie Vineyards’ sparkling wine. L’Acadie was the first in Nova Scotia--- the province’s cooler climate makes it ideal growing grounds---to produce sparkling wine through the traditional method or méthode champenoise: bubbles are created in the bottle rather than injected in afterwards, like carbonated soft drinks. It’s the most time-consuming method, but good things come to those who wait.
There are three varieties to choose from: Brut (dry), Sparkling Rose and Cuvee (a touch of sweetness). This year, L’Acadie’s 2007 Prestige Brut won the silver award at the All Canadian Wine Championships and top prize at NSLC’s Port of Wines Festivals. Check lacadievineyards.ca for availability.
