Remarks: Potholes should be reported to HRM’s god-like all-purpose phone number (490-4000—it handles everything!) but work orders for smaller potholes ultimately fall to Joe and his crew. Taylor could not be reached, but we speak to a helpful receptionist who explains that pothole priority has less to do with size and depth and more to do with location—“If we’ve got a bunch in one district—like, out in Fairview—we’ll try to do them all in one go.” In that case, we saw literally thousands of potholes on Quinpool. It’s like swiss cheese out there.

Who's Responsible?: Joe Taylor, HRM’s supervisor of streets. 490-6088.
