The pathway near the QEII Health Sciences Centre on Robie is constantly littered with cigarette butts. And they’ve even got those special cigarette butt-catching thingies on the side of the hospital. You’ve got the thingies!

Remarks: Good luck trying to get a straight answer out of the hospital. To be fair, health workers probably have more important things to worry about, but we would argue that persecuting smokers is kind of like a preemptive strike against illness. We try to call the groundskeeping crew three times: first, we’re forwarded to Facilities Management, then to Engineering Services, and the last time we were just mysteriously disconnected. Well!

Who's Responsible?: Smokers. And, the people who are supposed to clean that stuff up. (QEII Health Sciences Centre phone number: 473-2700).
