Ah, the coming of spring: a magical time when melting mounds of snow reveal a season’s worth of garbage. Take this, for instance, just outside the Wal-Mart in Bayers Lake. Now that’s magical!

Remarks: There’s a line in “Nobody’s Fool” by Kenny Loggins, “I’m going all the way, don’t care how long it takes,”—appropriate, given that we listened to that entire song while on hold with Wal-Mart. They eventually directed us to the Superstore phone system, which didn’t have any Kenny Loggins, but did lead us to a store manager who promised he would look into the problem on our behalf. Which is almost as good.

Who's Responsible?: Surprisingly, not Wal-Mart—the surrounding property is actually owned by Atlantic Superstore (Bayers Lake: 450-5317).
