People think that a bunch of uni students chanting songs like that are bad..think about the Mary Bowen's of the world who still feel that women cause rape to happen because men aren't strong enough to control their urges...
Having concerts on the Common is like using deodorant but not antiperspirant. It only masks the problem we have rather than fixing it. We need a bigger venue to bring in big acts- we can't keep using a space that is causing problems for many Haligonians- and it obviously isn't working. BEP should have been a great seller. It's too bad to see the group go out of business. It hurts all of us.
Perhaps we need to refocus our energies on a bigger and better venue. It will help Hali grow and save the Commons.
I liked the atmosphere, location, and the view. I didn't like the griminess of the restaurant. I understand that it's all part of the coolness but it needs a little work. The worst part about Paper Chase are the pretentious servers. I didn't know that when you ordered your food they would bring it to you. I stood in the way for a long time and they kept staring at me. It wasn't until I asked them where my food was that I got a snotty remark that they deliver it to me. It's also funny that while I waited for 20 minutes they kept making other people's food. They forgot about the person staring at them. It was my 3rd trip there and I haven't returned since.
Yeah, you must all be right. Choosing not to vaccinate is much more dangerous than injecting your children with processed foods, vegetables, fruuits, and meat filled with pesticides and agreeing with the fast food nation. Let's just see whose children get cancer first.
A guy walked out in front of the 80 on Robie by the Mazda dealership a few weeks ago. The driver screamed out, "You fucking idiot" Get off the damn road." 2 days later, there are signs all over the buses saying MT drivers have the right to kick you off the bus for cursing. How ironic. I guess it is ok for the drivers to act like maniacs and use profanity but not us.
