We’ve had lots of time to prepare, but the following news is still pretty hard to take: The Book Room’s last official day of business will be this Saturday. Stop in to scope out the remaining books and to say goodbye to staff while you can...In more sad news: A sign on the door of homey diner Olympic Confectionary (1146 Barrington) says it’s closed for the time being due to a family illness...It’s not all doom and gloom this week, though: The aforementioned Lady Luck Boutique will soon be opening a second store, in the Hydrostone. The scuttlebutt is that the new location will boast an art gallery...A new eatery, Chopin Bistro, has opened at the corner of Salter and Granville (5171 Salter). It offers “European cuisine” and the sign in its window tantalizingly promises a “dessert buffet.” (Now, who wants to make my day and start the Beethoven Feedin’ Trough and the Schubert Sandwich Shack to join it?)
