Re: “Sharply Dressed Stockboy

I'm so happy that he made someone else smile as well. Just noticed the boy in the suspenders today, but it sure made the grocery shopping on a busy day more enjoyable!

Re: “Eat a Carrot

well I was a skinny be-atch most of my life and now in my late twenties I am struggling with my weight; and guess what I don't eat fast food, I exercise, and yup carrots are on the grocery list. I can't believe the generalizations I have read on here. How about rather than a city full of 'fatties', it's a city full of people who are influenced by unattainable societal standards set by the media? Thank you so much for reminding me of my worst fears--the judgments you make just by my now larger pant size....just when I was beginning to enjoy my new womanly curves.

Re: “Fuck you bus driver - # 1 Spring Garden Road

I would have applauded if I was there as well.
This would not have been as much of a story, making the media if it was not about those uniformed anti-seal hunt people. The seal hunt is a realiable fishery resource, the hunt has been going on for hundreds of years and their numbers are still high. If anything, it's a model of conservation. Taking away the seal hunt would be hurting their culture, heritage, and way of life. The seal hunt has saved many lives from starvation in Nfld history. If you don't understand that, then you can't have a true opinion on the matter.
As far as the bus driver goes, yeah true he should not have done it on work hours but he should not be made out to be a villian.

Re: “Bouncers and officers in Hali

Yes, most of the bouncers are on a power-trip they don't deserve! You work the door at a bar in Halifax, Nova Scotia people! I understand how sometimes the people working the night life industry feel superior to patrons. They think they are running the show and controlling the city. I have worked in this industry before, and I recognize how people can get caught up in the atmosphere. Maybe one day they will recognize how stupid they really act.
I have seen a lot of unnecessary force used by the bouncers on their CUSTOMERS. I appreciate that they are necessary, but from what I have seen it's usually some dumb dicks that just get off on pushing people around for possibly looking at you the wrong way. Hey, here's an idea... treat people with respect and you'll get it in return! Don't expect people to bow down at you just because you are checking ID's! Don't pick out random guys from the crowd and challenge them to make yourselves feel better!
Get over yourselves..because most people who have brains are actually laughing at you.

Re: “Here's a Newsflash for Sidewalk Hogs

OMG! I thought I was the only one that this annoyed. three people walking shoulder to shoulder and I have to jump to the side for them...couldn't one of them just move for a sec? God, I'm never doing that again. I'll run them right over.

Re: “Rich kids going on "adventures"

Well I was raised middle class, and guess what I backpacked around the world a couple times on my own dime. I worked my a$$ off and bought the tickets and everything else myself. There were some hungry days but it was a blast!
Travelling is for sure not for everyone, but don't hate on the kids who did it.
And as far as returning home and becoming materialistic and sporting new clothes...well I don't live out of a backpack anymore. I'm not materialistic but I like to present myself in a plain, clean manner.
You don't have to have dreads and dirty jeans to be a travellor. Just a kind heart and a sense of humour.
