The first Bluenose-Ability Film Festival launches Thursday, December 3 in Halifax—the UN's International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The opening event is a gathering from 7-9pm at the Peggy Corkum Music Room, where Scars of Shame will be shown. Friday, December 4, there's a filmmaking workshop from 9am-noon at the Alderney Gate Library, and screenings from 2-4pm at both the Halifax Central and Keshen Goodman Libraries. Saturday, December 5, the festival closes with Awards Night, 7-9pm at the Music Room. All festival events are free, which is a wonderful bit of accessibility on top of the fest's mission of celebrating "the unique contributions of the growing disability arts and culture movement."
