Re: “A trust betrayed: Peter Kelly and the estate of Mary Thibeault

The facts as presented in this article indicate to me and to others that some people may have acted in an improper manner. Mr Kelly appears to be in violation of the probate legislation and he may be in violation of the criminal code of Canada. As well, I believe that the registrar of probate is negligent in their responsibilities to move the matter forward. As a result of the registrar of probate sitting on their hands I think the RCMP should begin and investigation.

Re: “Proposed YMCA/CBC development will break HRM By Design height limits

The new YMCA is desperately needed and it would be a tremendous asset to downtown Halifax. Hopefully common sense will prevail and the Y will get the go ahead. A good number of the residents next door appear to be wealthy students from the middle east here for only a few years of university.

Re: “The picture of health?

I agree with the above comments that financial incentives should be used to motivate people to adopt a healthier life style. I have been a YMCA fitness fanatic most of my life and I enjoy and appreciate the benefits I get from exercising. I think it is an underutilized wonder drug that could significantly enhance the well being of almost everyone at every age and physical condition. I have learned however through experience that no amount of exercise is capable of keeping us health and fit if we as a society continue to gorge on massive amounts of takeout and junk food. Over consumption of simple carbs and fat drenched food it the main contributor to the obesity epidemic. If everyone pigged out on fruits and vegetables with a little bit of lean protein our obesity epidemic would soon be over and our health care budgets would be in free fall.
