Often it’s the little out-of-the-way Mom-and-Pop-shops that are serving up the most impressive eats. In this case, it’s Anna Jimenez and Wilson Jenkins who take home the prize for best restaurant nobody knows about. A sweeping love story brought these two to Halifax (Jimenez from Mexico and Jenkins from Newfoundland) and it all becomes evident in their authentic Mexican food: “In Mexico, eating is a very lively, social event, and I try to bring that feeling here to our restaurant,” says Jimenez. “We have very loyal customers, and they are what keeps us in business.”
