Any record label that goes to the trouble to publish its code of ethics on its website is OK with us, and clearly with Coast readers, who have voted Josh Hogan’s D5R to the top of its list once again in its sixth year in business. The label, for those who don’t know because they live under rocks, boasts the best metal acts around, including Orchid’s Curse and Black Moor. New this year is D5 DIGITAL, the digital imprint offering regular niche releases to fans, and the recent release of *Failure Epics*, the Mastodon-inspired concept record from Jon Epworth, released Friday, March 23 with Old Blood and We’re Doomed at The Seahorse.
