Silver Winner Live 105

Bronze Winner Q 104

The Gruesomes’ CKDU promo is as iconic as the Casino taxi jingle to many, which is just as it should be. CKDU, gem of the Halifax airwaves, takes the gold in this category again. This winter, you had a chance to skate the Oval on Tuesday nights to local tunes, courtesy of CKDU, the station played host to the National Campus and Community Radio Conference in June and followed that up with a lovely picnic party featuring the city’s premiere Beach Boys cover band, California Girls. And the fun rolls on. They are upgrading their production studio to a state-of-the-art facility which should be complete by May, says station coordinator Gianna Lauren. And have plans for “a new website, lobby shows, sponsoring local concerts, a youth radio camp, a few hires this summer, big shindigs in October and a garage sale. And Nick Barrington of *Elegant Voltage* just celebrated 25 years of broadcasting!” Just remember how much you love them when their funding drive comes around (October), OK?
