Best Place To Volunteer

Gold Winner IWK Health Centre

Silver Winner Nova Scotia SPCA

Bronze Winner Feed Nova Scotia

With a committed army of volunteers that’s 800 strong, it’s no wonder the IWK takes home top honours. “It’s a very rewarding experience,” says manager of volunteer services Janet Foley. “Volunteers are really appreciated by staff, families and the patients themselves.” She says the average span of a volunteer term at most organizations is nine months to a year, but at the in-demand IWK, it’s more like five years---that explains why they’ve got a waiting list full of keeners. If you’re one of those keeners fill out an application online, give them a call and be patient.
