Nicole Tufts had a dream. A dream about opening up a doughnut shop, to be exact. “I woke up and told my partner about it. Three months later, Vandal was open,” says the co-owner of the sweet little bakery you’ve voted as Halifax’s Best New Business. After debuting inside Gus’ Pub about a year ago (the same spot that Ace Burger Co. had held down for years) and making a name for itself via its creatively named and shaped fried dough, Tufts’ manifested dream closed earlier this fall to prepare for the next big thing: A brand spankin’ new location. Where that is and when it will happen we don’t really know at this point, Tufts says they’re on the hunt for for the perfect spot to sling their sprinkle-topped treats from.
