Chain Yard Urban Cidery is the apple of readers’ eyes this year, taking home not just Best New Business, but Best New Bar, too. Since opening on the corner of Agricola and North streets last spring, it’s been churning out (or, fermenting out) cans of the sweet stuff and entertaining a seemingly steady stream of thirsty customers. And along with these wins, Chain Yard recently scored a Best Cider House nod from the Atlantic Canadian Beer Awards. But it’s about more than the drink, says co-owner Michael Lim. “We want people to feel welcome to come off the street and just feel comfortable.”
