“A big focus for us is creating a different and engaging live experience in all aspects of the show—from the lyrics to the melody to the singalong. Anything that can engage and relate to someone, that really honest and relatable show experience,” says Braden Lam, frontperson of Driftwood People, who’ve been playing to sold-out rooms for the past year. “We have also learned the difference between being a student band and a band of students: It’s easy to be a student band and keep playing in the bubble of campus but we’ve done a good job of pulling students off-campus and pulling other people into our fanbase.”
