“What an honour!! Wow!!” exclaims Blackburn in an email, upon hearing that readers chose him as the Best Music Photographer this year. Musicians he’s had in his sights recently include The Stanfields, Ian Sherwood, Carmel Mikol, Rain Over St. Ambrose and Andrew Hunter & The Gatherers. He’s also a regular at big live shows---he shot the Junos in Toronto, the Halifax Pop Explosion, the Waterfront Jubilee in New Glasgow, Arcade Fire at three separate gigs, U2, Hey Rosetta!, Matt Costa, Rich Aucoin, The Sheepdogs, Flogging Molly and The Dropkick Murphys, to name just a few favourites.
