Steve Kennedy’s a seasoned veteran at Tarek’s. With 15 years of service under his belt, he knows exactly what it is that keeps the Robie Street eatery so freakin’ loved. “The staff is locked in, it’s been the same guys for a number of years. That keeps us really motivated,” he says. “When you have a tight staff like we have, you’re able to put out a really consistent product all the time.” Kennedy is quick to point out that Tarek’s regulars are the absolute best, helping word of mouth be the restaurant’s number one form of advertising thanks to all of their bragging, and that there’s one person who it’d all be impossible without. “Hannora Kouriem, she’s our sous chef,” he says. “Without her working hard every morning, there’s no chance we’d win any of these awards.”
