Gold Winner Mezza Lebanese Kitchen, downtown
Silver Winner Tarek’s Cafe
Bronze Winner Ray's Lebanese, Bayers Lake
Tony and Peter Nahas’ growing chain of quick and healthy Middle Eastern eats encourages diners to “eat like you’re family”, and if this is how the Nahas family eats—we want in. Mezza gets its crown back after a slight interruption from silver winner, the also tasty Tarek’s Cafe, but its not because anything’s changed. The consistent Hall of Fame worthy shawarma and platters starring souvlaki, falafel, donairs and veggie-friendly delights beckon from locations across town, but Barrington Street tops them all. Probably for its role in beating the downtown lunch rush, and offering respite and re fueling for weary club-goers at 2am.
