It hit the big screen over a year ago and made a big splash at the Canadian box office, with its $1.3 million opening weekend now in the record books as the highest grossing weekend for an English Canadian movie. The distillation of the TPB cultural phenomenon, 7 seasons of a TV series into 90 minutes, was warmly received by fans of the characters, and, clearly, by Coast readers. But now that it’s out on DVD and has had its TV premiere on Showcase, look for Clement Virgo’s Poor Boy’s Game (opening this week) or Jason Eisener’s feature-length Hobo With A Shotgun in this space next year.
