At press time, the fate of the Taj Mahal is uncertain, following a fire at its South Street location in January that closed the place. Despite that, Coast readers anointed the restaurant in the inaugural Best Indian Food category, which should be a big vote of confidence to the owners to find a way to reopen. We all want to once again sample the murg makhani, the chicken vindaloo, the kashmiri rogan josh, the dhaba gosht masalaedar, the tandoori murg and the shahi chana masala.
