Heidi Rofe of Beauty Starts Hair is over the moon about two things: Her clients and hair colour, which she believes should change with the season. Taking the gold win for the fourth year in a row, Rofe credits her clientele. “My clients are family to me. I’m there for all the happy moments: first haircuts, back to school cuts, grads, proms, weddings,” Rofe says. “I’m also there for sad times, when someone is sick and I make a house call, if they are fighting cancer and they want me to shave their hair off. These are powerful moments and I feel blessed to be a part of them.” And don’t worry about the inevitable hair salon gossip—Rofe keeps tight-lipped. “The hairdresser’s chair is like a trip to Vegas: what happens in the chair stays in the chair."
