Best Food Blogger

Gold Winner Lindsay Nelson, Eat This Town

Silver Winner Arthur Gaudreau, Halifax ReTales

Bronze Winner Adam Rosenbaum and Colin McParland, The Starving Sailor

Founder of Eat This Town, Lindsay Nelson, credits this very readers’ survey for inspiring her blog’s popular series of food quests, where she samples as many of the same dish—say, nachos—across the city with a panel of hungry friends from real life and social media. “When I would read The Coast’s Best of Halifax I would I think: ‘Where is the best food actually? I’m going to find out for myself!’ I got into the habit of simultaneously ordering from different pizzerias, and bar-hopping to score and sample chicken wings.” After five years of eating and writing and eating some more, Nelson’s reviewed pretty much every pizza joint in town and narrowed down the city’s 10 best places to get nachos. And that intel is what keeps her readers voting for Eat This Town again and again. “In 2019 I’ll be offering my food quests as organized social adventures,” she says, “so subscribe to my blog and be the first to know.”
