“I think the difference with Pride is the community,” says Adam Reid, speaking about why the LGBTQ+ focused event has won gold. Reid says the fest’s openness to feedback and the monthly, open-door planning sessions where community members can get involved has helped shape the summer celebration into a place of inclusivity that’s unrivalled—and has won Best Festival for two years in a row. “We couldn’t do that, though, without the LGBTQ+ community: Pride is really just about them.”
