There’s no polite way to say this. Video Difference has simply crushed its competition in this year’s voters’ poll, giving it another Coast plaque to add to its collection. The victory makes “landslide” appear close by comparison. Tom Michael, owner of Video Difference, says at the beginning, in 1982, he was selling televisions and VCRs. He had no idea what lay in store for his little, um, store. He says the general trend in rentals is “non-domestic, non-theatrical” stories, box sets and indie films that didn’t get to see the light of the silver screen in Nova Scotia (which leaves plenty to choose from). Hear that, Hollywood? Winter’s coming, people, fire up your DVD players! 6086 Quinpool, 425-3029
