Best Drag King

Ben Dover has once again moonwalked his way to being crowned Halifax’s chosen Drag King. Lord Dover has seems to have created his own little fiefdom, taking not only this year’s and last year’s Coast readers’ poll in landslide victories, but also winning Best Drag King at the 2005 High Heel Awards and first prize at DragIdolAtlantic 2003, just to name a few (and oh, there are more). At some point, however, all conquering kings look to expanding their empire. After many years and many successes, Ben Dover is taking his spoils and leaving. Rumour has it he’s set his sights on the bright lights of Toronto. We understand why you’re leaving, King Ben, but you can’t blame us for thinking it’s a total drag. Farewell, Your Majesty.
