It would only make sense for the inventor of the donair to hang on to the title as the best and this year, the king has done it again. A variation of the Greek gyro, King of Donair came out with the much-loved late-night snack in 1972. And we’ve been feverishly—and drunkenly—eating up the meat, pita and oh-so-special sweet sauce combination ever since. All hail the king, for getting us through that long walk (read: stumble) home after a night out on the town. It’s safe to say this monarch has served our city well.
