Middle Spoon co-owner Lacey Doherty was the kind of kid who spent every penny of her allowance at the candy store. Her sweet tooth’s been put to good use at her Barrington Street source of killer cocktails and decadent desserts, which reclaims this title after two years as a silver winner. “Desserts and cocktails, in the beginning a lot of people thought it was a little odd,” says Doherty of the Spoon’s road to winning. “We bake everything fresh in house, keeping it local when we can. And we make sure everything looks as good as it tastes.” The next big thing on the menu here—monthly dessert tastings, featuring a little taste of absolutely everything.
