It’s a milestone year for Serpentine Studios, the bellydance/circus company co-founded by your Best Dancer, Monique Ryan. We’re talking a solid decade, celebrated last month with a repertoire-spanning extravaganza at The Marquee. “I’m so glad that the category for Best Dancer is back this year and I am beyond thrilled and very honoured to have won,” she says. “It really means so much that people voted for me, and for bellydance.” Also performing hula-hoop and acrobatics, Ryan dances with Atlantic Cirque too. This spring, Serpentine (which Ryan runs with Laura Selenzi) will produce its full-length production Night Garden.
