Best Cafe

Uncommon Grounds, 1030 South Park, 431-3101

Last year’s runner-up for Best Cafe snatches the grand prize and pushes perennial favourite Steve-O-Reno’s into third place behind the Paper Chase. Uncommon Grounds has become so popular that two additional locations have recently opened downtown, but for now your pick is the original South Park site. Could be the urban hip feel, the wi-fi zone or the leather coach chairs. Could be the fresh and fab sandwiches, sweets and treats. Could be the fresh coffee beans that make the coffee taste so great. Whatever it is, Uncommon Grounds is gaining a lot of ground from more established coffee houses.

2nd: Blowers Street Paper Chase Cafe, 5228 Blowers, 423-0750

3rd: Steve-O-Reno’s Cappucino, 1536 Brunswick, 429-3034
