Last year, Kurt Borden upset two-time winner Darren Cobb for the gold, but neither name is found on the podium in 2016. Instead, 2015’s third-place Tara Scudder moves up to silver and newcomer Shannon Francis—who’s been driving for Halifax Transit the last five years—takes home gold as Best Bus Driver. “I am very shocked,” says Francis, who’s without a set route number right now and mostly covers for other drivers who can’t make their shifts. She can only attribute her win to the passion she has for her work. “I do love my job, I’m not going to lie.”
