Best Author/Poet 2007 | Tanya Davis | Arts + Culture

Best of Halifax

Best Author/Poet

Tanya Davis

“Hey, that’s great!” says Davis upon hearing that Coast readers consider her Halifax’s Best Author/Poet. “Especially because I’m a non-traditional author/poet!” Most will know Davis from her music, and she is in the midst of recording a new album with local studio wizard Charles Austin. Of her ventures as a wordsmith, we can expect a printed collection from Davis at some point in the near future. “I’m trying to compile my stuff, I want to keep the poetry going,” she says. “But I’ll probably have to self-publish.” Well, maybe not, if there are publishers out there who read this newspaper.

First runner up: Lesley Choyce

Second runner up: Donna Morrissey
