Gold Winner Brooklyn Warehouse
Silver Winner The Bicycle Thief
Bronze Winner Obladee, A Wine Bar
The Brooklyn Warehouse’s laid-back atmosphere—including tin ceiling tiles, reclaimed pallet wood and locally hand-painted signs—feels a little bit 1932 (when the building was built) and a little bit 2013. And it now includes a bright new patio, which brings a third more seats to the resto. George Christakos says the restaurant’s success stems from its determination to progress. “We know that a stagnant business is not a healthy one,” he says. “I think people look to us for change and, by being an early adopter, we can give our customers what they want as they recognize that’s what they want it.” He adds that a new communal table will be installed this spring, making the Warehouse experience even cooler.
