We love our homegrown hockey dudes, we really do. We love to brag that these prodigal players were raised on our rinks, in our suburbs, by our coaches. And we’re proud of their international fame and glory, we really are. But Best of bronze-winning Olympic gymnast Ellie Black (who actually lives in Halifax) placed NINTH IN THE WORLD at last month’s world championships—the best ranking a Canadian has ever achieved. That’s bragworthy, right? She’ll compete in Toronto’s Pan Am Games next year, and return to the Olympics in 2016, but before that…we want to put her on our podium.
