Best Architect

Brian MacKay-Lyons

For five years in a row, you’ve selected MacKay-Lyons’s colourful, unconventional Governor General’s Award-winning buildings as the best in the SuperCity. You can find his designs all over Nova Scotia, including 2042 Maynard and 5658 Falkland, a Royal Bnak building in Pubnico and a few dozen houses on what his website (www.bmlaud.ca) defines as “Nova Scotia coast.” He helped design the silver box that is the Dalhousie computer science building and is responsible for the snazzy new extension at Dalhousie on Spring Garden (formerly TUNS). 2042 Maynard, 429-1867

Runner-up: Peter Henry
