I voted for Meagan Leslie, and am very happy I did. I am a woman working in the non-profit sector with marginalized women and children. I applaud Ms. Leslie for her comments condemning this contest. Quite simply, it promotes the idea that it is acceptable to traffic women. That's what the mail-order bride industry is. Sexual exploitation of women in any form contributes to the overall social epidemic of violence against women. It's not funny. It's not sexy. It's not exotic. I am ecstatic that there is someone in Ottawa paying attention. Thank you, Ms. Leslie!
