Atlantic Film Fest director Gregor Ash sets sights on federal politics

Ash to be nominated to represent the Halifax West NDP Riding Association.

Having worked in the non-profit arts sector, I can tell you that good administrators are magical beings that can turn dust to diamonds. Well, almost. But it comes as no surprise that the director of one of the city's highest-profile arts organizations, the Atlantic Film Festival, is making a move to politics.

On Thursday, the Halifax West NDP Riding Association is holding a nomination meeting for their new candidate. If all goes according to plan, AFF executive director Gregor Ash will represent the NDP in the next federal election.

The nomination takes place from 7-9pm at the Rockingham United Church, 12 Flamingo Drive. You don't need to be a member to attend.
