$30,000 per year is not nearly enough to inspire a "good work ethic." That is $16/hour (assuming a 35 hour workweek), or less than $600 per week, pre-tax. If you want a good work ethic, you have to be willing to pay what it is worth.

The teachers were given the long service award in return for giving up pension indexing. So their pension will no longer keep pace with inflation and the long service award is a one-time payout to mitigate that. Given that they could be living off their pension for up to 30 years with no adjustments for inflation, I think the long service award is merited. Plus they gave up indexing in good faith based on getting the award instead, so to have the government now take it away too is unscrupulous and dishonest.

    Congratulations!

Though forgive me if I laugh that Peter Kelly's downfall is considered "a significant impact on the public good." :)

This would be a fantastic idea, and there is no way the area Councillor would ever support it. The Premier would also quash it, as demonstrated when he threw a snit fit about constructing the new transit terminal on "Dartmouth Common" land. Sadly our political leadership conspire to keep parks as underutilized green space where the humans are intruders.

The bus stop ads are in Ottawa as well as here - went up in the summer and was quite surprised to see them throughotu downtown Ottawa!

So, will Mayor Kelly be presiding over the Council meeting when this comes back for discussion? He refused to step down from the chair yesterday, even though he knew what the report said. Conflict much?

Yes, it was Elephant's Eye. Glad that you have had good experiences, but to accuse others of lying because they did not have the same experience as you is a bit beyond the pale. And yes, it was indeed chili, made with chuck steak and not ground beef, making it "high end" enough for you, I hope. Maybe they discontinued it because it was not cost-effective to make it - hence the small servings at the time.

As I said, the food was generally good at Elephant's Eye but I found a trend of portions growing smaller and smaller. Perhaps that has changed, but as I said, I haven't gone back so I don't know. I was not "putting a place down for no reason," I wrote honestly about my experience, which is the point of a review, after all. I don't see any real review in your comments, just an attack on someone you disagree with. Perhaps you are affiliated with the restaurant?
