Alpha and Omega get it on

Sexual euphemisms and intense animal battles slot this animation on a shelf for adults and teens.

Pack law prevents alphas and omegas from getting their howl on in this movie’s wolf world, so huntress Kate (Hayden Panettiere) and jokester Humphrey (Justin Long) seem destined to keep it platonic. Things change, though, when they’re sedated and moved from Jasper National Park to an Idaho wilderness reserve. On the way back to Jasper---where a rival pack is threatening war unless Kate returns to marry one of its young alphas---they get predictably snuggly. The film itself, with its sexual euphemisms and occasionally intense animal battles, isn’t quite snuggly enough for small children, but older kids and their parents will appreciate the action and wit. Grownups can also savour the late Dennis Hopper, voicing a crusty old pack leader from beyond the grave.
