Al Tuck's got a way with words

The PEI singer-songwriter is hot off a tour and has oodles of songs waiting in the wings.

Fresh off a tour of Ontario and western Canada with Jason Collett, Al Tuck is full of stories, and likely songwriting material; try nearly driving off a cliff or being the stranger at a wake at an east coast pub in Calgary. Tour inspiration aside, it seems Tuck never has a shortage of songs to share. This fall he released a career-spanning compilation, All Time Favorites, a project that wasn't originally top priority. "I have so many unreleased, and in some cases unrecorded songs that I felt more loyalty to. Then I started to see the merit in it." The fact that it would also be his first release on vinyl helped the cause. A volume two best-of is also in the works, but it'll be full of unrecorded songs that are usually requested at his live shows. And Tuck's nearly done working on another album of brand new material, one he hopes will be completed by spring. "If I've been guilty of anything, it's not putting enough stuff out...I've got a lot of catching up to do, a lot of stuff in the canon ready to go." –Allison Saunders
