A very European Christmas

Bishop’s Landing plays host to the Waterfront Christmas Market, a weekend of mingling, outdoor shopping and mulled wine.

It’s a piazza party.
It’s a piazza party.

This weekend you can get a taste of Europe without losing your luggage, or your Air Miles. The piazza at Bishop's Landing will be channelling the spirit of traditional European Christmas markets ---those outdoor winter wonderlands that draw millions of visitors for shopping, eating, mingling and mulled wine. Oh, the mulled wine. For the inaugural Waterfront Christmas Market, Bishop's Landing will not just house over 20 vendors (like the Quarrelsome Yeti, LouLouBell and Rum Runners to name a few) to ooo and ahh over, but there'll be free carousel rides all weekend, and not just for the wee ones. "I think it'll be great to really open up the piazza for everyone to enjoy the space, and make it there own," says Carmen Pirie, one of the elves behind this holiday treat. Of course, a certain holiday hero from the North Pole will be dropping by for meeting and greeting, find him on Thursday and Friday from 6-9pm, Saturday from 10am-12:30pm and 5-9pm and Sunday from 10am-12:30pm and 2-6pm. Who says the waterfront is best enjoyed with a side of sunshine and tourists?

Thu Dec 8-Fri Dec 9 (6-10pm), Sat Dec 10 (10am-10pm), Sun Dec 11 (10am-7pm), Bishop's Landing, Halifax waterfront,
