also highly influential were Death from Detroit, MI who were around at the same time and just as groundbreaking as both the Stooges and the MC5. in addition to Poly Styrene and the Bad Brains, one can also not dismiss Rocky George of Suicidal Tendencies, Living Color and, more recently, visionaries like Tom Morello and Unlocking the Truth carrying on the mantle. I wholeheartedly agree that it's a shame that black contributions to punk and hardcore are still not widely recognized within the scene and that being black is still noticeable enough to be a "thing" when the afropunks have been there from the beginning. much respect for holding your place and making your presence known.
