Halifax has some of the WORST pedestrians. I don't think I'd chalk even half of the incidents up to driver errors. HRM pedestrians in any major cities learn real, real quick. They can't get away with the same garbage in Toronto or Montreal.

Living in Nova Scotia ain't easy. You have to love it, and if you have any sort of education, you have to be okay with the fact that you can make more money anywhere else in Canada. We have some of the best post-secondary schools in Canada, a ton of people get their education and think the'll put roots down here. A job in NS is never going to pay as well as the same job in Alberta or just about any province because the market is saturated with educated individuals. You can't throw a lobster without hitting someone who has some sort of post-secondary education. We are all in this boat together, but some of us have values above money.

But Nova Scotia Power is a scam, I'm with you on that. We have some of the least environmentally friendly power in Canada. It's embarassing how much closer we are to Alberta in terms of contaminants per MWh than the champions like Quebec, Manitoba and BC. It's privatized, they're making good money, they have little incentive to change. We sold NSP, we made our bed, now we either need to sleep in it or buy NSP back.
