Re: “Hot winter daze at SENSEA Nordic Spa

In response to the above comment about false advertising... the article says, "On a 26-acre parcel of land outside the Nova Scotia coastal village of Chester ". Nothing false about the write up at all. It does not say the spa is on the coast. It says the village is.

The spa IS in the Chester village limits, which IS a gorgeous scenic coastal town. It is located on beautiful Stanford Lake, which is less than a 10 minute walk to the ocean. How do I know? I grew up here and lived on the road the spa is located on. It is a wonderful escape from the city and the village is excited to have this wonderful spa experience located here.

Re: “Should the Liberals have eliminated the film tax credit?

"we are subsidizing 65% of the payrolls of millionaires"

I am not a millionaire by a very loooooong shot. I don't live in a mansion, I can't afford to eat caviar or out at fancy restaurants, nor do I drink champagne for sport. The tax credit is for NS labour, or crew. Yes, although I am decently paid for what I do, I also work 14 hour days, pay exhorbitant amounts of taxes and my job is, at best, seasonal. Well, until last Thursday, anyway.

Perhaps you should realize that before you go on about how we are all millionaires and "Trailer Park Boys", you need to understand that crew aren't actors, and NS crew (who's wages the credit is applied to), aren't Hollywood producers. You need to understand that we are just people, struggling to pay mortgages, power bills, feed our families, etc, (just like you no doubt). We are real people struggling to live day to day. Guess what? When it comes down to it, it cost the tax payers a lot more to keep 2500 film workers on EI for 40 weeks, with no production money coming into the province, than it would to keep the tax credit going.

And if we want to work, we need to leave.. to go where the productions are gone to. We would gladly stay and work, but if there's nothing to work on, then it's a moot point, don't you think? (and it's "We're leaving" not where leaving..tsk tsk on the bad grammar)

Re: “Should the Liberals have eliminated the film tax credit?

Similar to other provinces? You must mean New Brunswick and Saskatchewan, because Alberta, BC and Ontario have tax credits of 50-65%.
