The dislike for Firefighters goes back a long way with the coast. Not sure if they act the same way for all Municipal workers but would suspect the same.
I agree with most of what Ex Officer Mc Nulty says, except for question 1. Both Sackville & Cole Harbour had 24 hour full time staff, with a large contingent of Volunteers before amalgamation.
One thing not mentioned is the large decrease of Budget funding during the last 5 years. The CAO has demanded decreases in the budget every year, with very little replacment of staff. How can you mantain status que with less and less every year..
The CAO has got the Muncipality in a mess that is going to be very hard to get out of. Just look at the snow issues and the streets. Some will argue its been a bad year for snow and they r correct, but look at Moncton. There streetrs are passable.. enough said.
