Just my two cents but expel these students now. I have heard the argument that "no crime has been committed" and this "was a private Facebook group" but it does not matter. As future professionals in their chosen fields, they are held to high standards of conduct like any other professionals such as doctors, teachers, lawyers, et al. This should not stand in this day and age and the university has duty to do the right thing lest they be seen as condoning this sort of behaviour for their graduating students.
